The Ishtar Gate, on display in the Pergamon Museum on Museum Island in Berlin, Germany, was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. It was constructed in about 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. The Ishtar Gate of Babylon is one of the highlights of the Pergamon Museum's Ancient Near East collection.
