The Blue Mosque, Istanbul, Turkey. Built between 1606 and 1616 by architect Mehmet Aga, it has six minarets and the biggest courtyard of all the Ottoman mosques. Its name is the Sultan Ahmed Mosque, but is more commonly known as the Blue Mosque because of the blue tiles used extensively in the interior.
