The Monastery of the Patriarchate of Pec is located at the entrance of the Rugova gorge near Pec (Peja), Kosovo. The complex of the Pec churches is the spiritual seat and mausoleum of Serbian archbishops and patriarchs. An entire history of the styles of medieval wall painting can be seen in the magnificent frescoes of the three mid-13th century churches. It is on the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in Danger due to the political instability in the region.
